Founder & Director of Player Development
Katie Smrcka-Duffy Fudd is one of the most accomplished basketball players and development coaches to come out of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. With decades of experience as an elite player, coach, and mentor, she has dedicated her career to developing basketball players both on and off the court.
A native of Northern Virginia, Katie starred at James Madison High School in Vienna, where she scored 2,463 career points — one of the highest totals in Virginia high school basketball history. She earned High School All-American honors and established herself as one of the nation's premier guards.
She began her collegiate career at North Carolina State University, where she made an immediate impact by earning ACC Rookie of the Year honors as a freshman. She later transferred to Georgetown University, where she became one of the program's all-time greats, surpassing 2,000 career collegiate points between the two schools and earning three consecutive All-Big East selections.
Following her collegiate career, Katie was selected in the 2001 WNBA Draft by the Sacramento Monarchs. Although injuries prevented her from playing professionally in the league, her passion for teaching and developing players only grew stronger.
Over the past two decades, Katie has become one of the region's most respected basketball instructors. She has coached at both the high school and youth levels, including serving as the head girls' varsity basketball coach at The Potomac School, where she built a reputation for developing fundamentally sound players and mentoring young women beyond basketball.
Her coaching philosophy centers on skill development, basketball IQ, discipline, confidence, and character. Known for her attention to detail and technical expertise, she has helped develop athletes ranging from beginners to Division I prospects and professional players.
Katie's influence extends beyond the players she coaches directly. As the mother of WNBA standout and former UConn All-American Azzi Fudd, she has been widely recognized for helping develop one of the purest shooting forms in basketball. Her meticulous teaching of shooting mechanics and fundamentals has been featured in national publications and is considered a model for player development.
Today, Katie continues to dedicate her career to helping athletes maximize their potential through structured player development, combining elite playing experience with decades of coaching expertise to prepare players for success at every level of the game.

Director of Basketball Operations & Player Development
Tim Fudd is a nationally respected basketball coach, player development specialist, and organizational leader with more than 25 years of coaching experience spanning NCAA Division I, elite high school basketball, grassroots basketball, and professional player development. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for developing athletes, building winning cultures, and preparing players for success at every level of the game.
A native of Falls Church, Virginia, Fudd was a standout player at Chantilly High School, earning All-State, All-Region, Northern Region MVP, District MVP, and District Tournament MVP honors while leading Chantilly to the 1991 Northern Region Championship. He continued his playing career at American University, where he became one of the premier guards in the Colonial Athletic Association. A two-time All-CAA selection, he led the conference in scoring during the 1993–94 season, finished his career ranked among American University's all-time leaders in scoring and rebounding, and served as a two-year team captain.
Following college, Fudd played professionally in Europe and South America, including stops in Holland, Finland, Spain, and Venezuela, before transitioning into coaching.
His coaching career includes successful stops at Fairfax High School, The Potomac School, Bullis School, Notre Dame Academy, Longwood University, Archbishop Carroll High School, St. John's College High School, and numerous elite grassroots basketball programs throughout the country.
As Head Coach at Notre Dame Academy, Fudd transformed the program into one of Virginia's best, leading the team to a remarkable 33–1 record, the Virginia Independent Schools Division II State Championship, and a No. 2 overall ranking in Virginia among both public and private schools. His efforts earned him Virginia Independent Schools Division II Coach of the Year, Loudoun County Coach of the Year, and DCMetroHoops Metropolitan Co-Coach of the Year honors.
Fudd later joined the Division I coaching staff at Longwood University, where he served as Assistant Coach with responsibilities that included recruiting, scouting, player development, practice planning, and opponent preparation. During his tenure, he helped recruit and develop Longwood's all-time leading scorer, the school's all-time leading three-point shooter, multiple First Team All-Independent players, and an Independent Player of the Year.
Beyond the collegiate game, Fudd has become one of the most respected player developers in the Mid-Atlantic region. Alongside his wife, former Georgetown All-American and WNBA draft pick Katie Fudd, he co-founded GTS Fusion, a nationally recognized grassroots basketball organization built around long-term player development rather than simply winning games. Since its founding, the program has helped hundreds of athletes earn opportunities to compete at the collegiate level while emphasizing basketball IQ, skill development, character, and leadership.
Throughout his career, Fudd has coached or developed numerous NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III, NAIA, and professional athletes. His philosophy centers on teaching players how to think the game, master fundamentals, embrace accountability, and develop the habits necessary for sustained success on and off the court.
In addition to coaching, Fudd is an entrepreneur and business strategist. He serves as Founder of Athlete Enterprise Group (AEG), where he advises athletes and families on business strategy, NIL, branding, financial preparedness, and long-term career planning. He also serves as Business Manager for WNBA standout and NCAA National Champion Azzi Fudd, helping oversee her growing business portfolio and strategic partnerships.
Whether coaching on the court or advising families off of it, Tim Fudd is driven by one mission: helping people maximize their potential by combining elite preparation, intentional development, and servant leadership.
